Multi-layered landscape, both in plan and sections, is carefully crafted to create hideaway sanctuary for a residential project in the middle of prime Sukhumvit district.
With accesses from both Sukhumvit Road and Soi Ekamai, the site of The Reserve 61 Hideaway is within walking distances for everything from BTS, offices, movie theaters, restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. However, those conveniences normally come with the prices, busy surroundings and lack of greenery. The client wanted to create an urban oasis with only 155 residential units. The design team started from arranging the masterplan to maximize green space. Two 7-stories buildings are located in L shape format, allowing the middle courtyard to have maximum greenery. ‘Square Doughnut Pool’ envelopes the courtyard space, with greenery island connecting to the sunken facilities. Surrounding the property, a series of linear and pocket gardens are not only provided for other activities, but also create porous surface to manage our own rain water.
Overall, this project successfully breaks through high end residential typology, which normally lack of greenery, and manages to keep 2,900 square meters of garden, (1/3 of the site area) because we do believe that nature is the most important thing in our mind.
